hi, i'm glad you're here.
You've probably gathered from the rest of my portfolio that I've worn a few different professional hats. I've been a writer, an editor, a social media ninja, and I'm now a web developer. I have been lucky enough to work for some amazing publications and companies. Each field taught me something about myself, which is what ultimately led me to coding - the perfect balance of creativity and precision (in my humble opinion).
EDUCATION
Most recently, I completed the Web Development Coding Boot Camp at the University of Texas at Austin in 2018, covering everything from Javascript to databases, Node.js, and React. I also graduated from Texas Christian University in 2012 (summa cum laude) with a BA in English and a minor in writing. While attending TCU, I worked in the WL Adams Center for Writing, was awarded the Salmon-Gauthier Apprenticeship, and won a number of creative writing awards.
INTERESTS
As a military spouse, one of my major interests is traveling and exploring all of the new places the Air Force sends our little family. We've lived in five states and two countries over the last six years, which, in part, explains my professional journey, but I wouldn't trade the lessons and experiences our lifestyle has afforded us for anything. I also love cooking, spending time with family and friends, hiking, nature photography, and hanging out with my sidekick pup, Cowboy.
